Here we are getting air time on KHUM just before the race.

Here we are just after the start of the 2003 race. Things seemed to look good at this point.

But alas, we were up to our old tricks up the sand dunes. Bent shaft, lost ace.
We did get farther than last year, though perhaps more damage was done.

We were able to bend things into enough shape to do most of the course;
when it started making too many loud noises, we got out and pushed.

The 2nd day we did ok, except we couldn't pedal up the launch ramp.

The 3rd day was a lovely water crossing, except for the brief push through
the shallow sections. We did ok here to, again except for the water exit.

Our glorious finish, albeit with lack luster performance from the wind.
